Talent Acquisition Specialist

SUMMARY

Provide professional level support in the full life-cycle (sourcing, screening, qualifying, selecting and hiring) of talent into the organization. Specifically, the focus or emphasis shall be on hourly, non-exempt level positions. Partner with hiring managers, recruit and evaluate external and internal candidates and secure/analyze compensation data determined for job offers, promotions and internal transfers. Accountable for accurate and timely processing of recruitment activities and demands. Responsible for effectively supporting Hiring Managers with the selection and hiring of highly-qualified personnel. Exercises discretion when prioritizing recruitment activities. Interacts with all levels of employees, management, related service providers and vendors, and external candidates. Reports to the Director of Human Resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Maintain recruitment strategy for attracting and selecting candidates.Coordinate recruitment, sourcing and on-boarding activities.
  • Attend/participate in recruitment events, career fairs, and trade school career fairs as needed. Develop strategic relationships with assigned vocational school partners.
  • Manage new hire process. Responsible for extending job offers, scheduling and conducting interviews, making travel arrangements, and overseeing employees throughout the new hire process.
  • Processes background checks.
  • Maintain sourcing plans to include social media, relationships with appropriate agencies and educational organizations.
  • Oversee internal transfer process. Responsible for reviewing salaries & hourly wage data, extending job offers, and communicating change in status to employees.
  • Supports analysis of compensation data.
  • Create/maintain internal/external job postings.
  • Perform work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Assimilate information quickly and accurately.
  • Provide effective support to all internal customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree in a related field and two to four years experience in a shipyard environment preferred. Equivalent work experience, or a combination of the two, may substitute for degree/experience required.
  • Working knowledge of HR concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated organizational and creative problem solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications preferred.Experience with Success Factors ATS a plus.
  • Recruiting hourly, tradesmen, skilled labor or light industrial/manufacturing candidates preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management.
  • Fluent Spanish language ability, orally and written, preferred.
  • Has the ability to multitask, prioritize demands, and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with or ability to gain proficiency in the use of new technologies and/or media to augment recruiting and sourcing efforts.
  • Actively participates in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, improve quality, reduce cycle time, and reduce costs.
  • Commitment to the concepts, philosophy and practices of continuous improvement.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work primarily conducted in an office setting with good lighting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing. Must be physically able to commute to buildings throughout the shipyard. Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.

PAY SCALE

$66,560 - $79,000

This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
