Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Examines the role of hormone, innate immunity, and microbiome in viral transmission and pathogenesis in humans and mouse models.
- Carries out assignments in the laboratory and help manage the laboratory.
- Compiles and presents statistical data with appropriate conclusions and recommendations in a weekly group meeting.
- Assist in the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications for the funding of research activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Dr. Chang.
- Understands and adheres to Rutgers compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’ Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and RBHS regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified
- B.S in the field of infectious diseases, immunology, molecular cellular biology.
- The candidate should be familiar with handling infectious agents, ELISA, multi-color FACS analysis, molecular cloning, real-time PCR analysis, and immunofluorescent microscopy.
- Experience in processing primary cells from blood and tissue as well as handling mice is essential.
- The applicant should have experience in molecular biology, cell biology, mucosal innate immunity and host-pathogen interaction.
- The candidate must have excellent communication and writing skills.
- Must be able to lift or exert force up to ten (10) pounds.

Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
