Responsibilities

We are currently seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our Workers Compensation Analytic Team. The Data Analyst will be responsible for working with business stakeholders and other informatics team colleagues to analyze financial and utilization data, for both prospective and current clients, for use in competitive analyses in order to increase customer acquisition and retention.

This role reports to the Network Performance Manager within Product and Analytics and will be working with cross-functional teams to drive solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Integrates data from multiple sources to produce requested or required data elements.
  • Assists in translating needs, issues, and ideas into effective strategies and action plans. Coordinates team/project activities and schedules.
  • Communicates results/recommendations to project sponsors. Develops creative alternative solutions. Recommends action steps to team and client. Makes formal presentations.
  • Programs and maintains report forms and formats, information dashboards, data generators, canned reports and other end-user information portals or resources.
  • Generates ad hoc reports and regular datasets or report information for end-users using system tools and database or data warehouse queries and scripts.


Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree in business, economics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, public health, health informatics, healthcare administration, finance, or a related field

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Significant experience (2+ years) in Workers Compensation or health care industry in the areas of analysis, reporting.
  • Familiarity with health insurance industry acronyms and terminology as they apply to workers' compensation and PPO operations greatly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret quantitative/qualitative analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have proven problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Skill and ability across multiple business intelligence tool sets (e.g. SAS, IBM, and Microsoft) with Intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, etc.
  • Ability to work with all levels of healthcare personnel from senior leadership to entry level personnel across the enterprise.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to identify trends
  • Experience in writing SQL Statements
  • Experience working directly with large-scale data warehouses in a healthcare environment

The expected base pay for this position ranges from $58,345 - $75,000 annually and will be based on a number of additional factors, including skills, experience, and education.
