Overview

We are seeking a Structural Engineer II (E2) to join our Substation Structural Team within our Power Delivery Group. This role will be based in our San Diego, CA or Phoenixville, PA office. This role will begin as in-office but can progress to remote/hybrid as the employee becomes more integrated with the team.
Our Structural Engineers are expected to work collaboratively within a team environment to meet the needs of our clients. They contribute to the analysis and design of all structural elements within the substation, including steel structures, foundations, and anchorage. They also contribute to the design of transmission line steel lattice towers, steel poles, and foundations. They are expected to be responsive, proactive, and solution oriented.

Responsibilities
    Collaborate with teams of engineers, designers, and drafters to complete project deliverables.
  • Coordinate design work with other engineering disciplines.
  • Meet client expectations for budget and schedule while delivering a quality product.
  • Increase proficiency in relevant design, modeling, and analysis software applications such as RISA, FAD Tools, LPile, Mathcad, PLS software suite, and AutoCAD.
  • Increase knowledge of local codes and industry standards.
  • Assist with budget estimates and write-ups for proposals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. (Preferred)
  • EIT Certificate (Preferred).
  • 3+ years of structural design engineering experience within substation, transmission, bridges, or buildings design experience.
  • Experience with at least one of the following: RISA, MathCAD, and/or PLS software suite

The pay range for this California position is $75,000.00- $105,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162. Base pay information is based on market location. Applicants should apply via the NV5 careers site.
