The successful candidate will be strongly committed to fulfilling the academic mission of the College and be capable of empowering the diverse faculty to achieve academic and research excellence. Minimum qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. or Sc.D.

CEPS is one of the University’s seven colleges with 128 tenured and tenure-track faculty and numerous research and lecturer faculty who educate approximately 2,670 undergraduate and graduate students. CEPS is home to nine academic departments: Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics, Mechanical Engineering and Physics. The new dean will also have the opportunity to help pursue the University’s bold aspirations to be among the top 25 public universities in the country while actively supporting the College’s tradition of student-focused teaching and learning. This tradition is exemplified in programs such as the Undergraduate Research Conference, one of the largest and most diverse undergraduate research conferences in the country and a hallmark of UNH CEPS.

The dean of CEPS reports to the provost and vice president for academic affairs and is responsible for administering CEPS’ academic programs and for aligning these programs with UNH’s Strategic Plan. The Dean operates under a responsibility centered management budgeting model, operating an annual budget of $62M with nearly $40M in annual sponsored research expenditures. The Dean will also work closely with the UNH Foundation and CEPS Development team on fundraising efforts for the upcoming $450M university-wide capital campaign; $70M for CEPS.
