Postdoctoral fellows 

The Sena-Esteves laboratory in the Horae Gene Therapy Center of the University of Massachusetts Medical School is pleased to invite applications for postdoctoral researcher positions.  This research opportunity focuses on AAV-mediated gene therapy for neurological disorders and engineering of novel AAV capsids.  

Applicants should have a PhD in the biomedical sciences or an MD/DVM with post-graduate scientific training, and three to five years of research experience in the fields of neuroscience, molecular biology, animal modeling, bioengineering, and/or gene therapy.  

Applicants with a strong background in molecular cloning, viral vector production and downstream processing, viral vectorology, in vivo gene transfer studies, assessing biological/therapeutic outcomes, conventional and confocal microscopic analyses of tissue sections and image processing are preferred, but not required.

Applicants must have the ability to work independently and coordinate multiple projects and activities concurrently. Strong writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills are required.  Candidates should be highly organized, hard-working, and motivated to respond to the changes within the rapidly evolving field of gene therapy.
